A camping holiday is a holiday in nature. We are very fortunate that our Camp MondSeeLand campsite  is located in a wonderful setting – surrounded by unspoilt natural surroundings and the dreamy landscape of the Salzkammergut, with Mondsee and Irrsee.

We place a great deal of emphasis on sustainability and therefore put measures in place. Find out here what we are doing to make your camping holiday sustainable:

CO2 neutral pool heating, building heating & hot water provision

Heat source for the Infrastructure of the campsite is a wood-fired heating system. The wood for this heating comes from our own managed woodland on the Kolomansberg and from sustainable forestry in the Salzkammergut (within an area of some 30 km). This helps keep our CO2 emissions particularly low.

Our own water sources

The fresh mountain spring water on the camp site comes from our own water sources direct from the Kolomansberg mountain.

Biodiversity

Our slopes have been planted with a wide variety of colorful flowers to increase the biodiversity of plants, animals and microorganisms. In this way we create a high bio-diversity.

We use green electricity

Green electricity is used throughout the campsite area. This is also shown in our annual energy consumption details. No CO2 emissions and no radioactive waste is generated. In 2021 electricity was from the following energy sources:

  • 80.37 % water power
  • 11.24 % wind energy
  • 5.04 % solid biomass
  • 1.04 % Bio gas
  • 2.28 % Photovoltaic
  • 0.03 % other eco energy sources

Planting & Green areas

The ongoing expansion of the tree stock at and around the campsite absorbs CO2 and provides shade, which in turn has a positive effect on less use of the air conditioning of mobile homes.

In the past few years alone, over 60 trees have been planted in the area.
